Water For Life Project
Water For Life is a celebration of water, rivers, and the natural world. A mix of inspirational stories and music, stunning art images and film clips, Water for Life aims to spread awareness of the importance of water and the individual contribution we can make as water stewards, wherever we might live.

In April 2011, ART collaborated with Mark Angelo and the Rivers Institute at BCIT to produce a concert at the Michael J. Fox Theatre in Burnaby, BC with 150 singers from Brentwood Park School. It was filmed and edited by Image Media Farm, into a 1-hour TV special, that was broadcast on Global BC, and achieved top ratings.

All proceeds from ticket sales went to two charities: WaterCan which provides clean water to African communities, and The Nature Trust of BC-which protects key habitats throughout British Columbia.

Sponsors include North Growth Foundation, BCIT, Blue Planet Links, HSBC, MetroVancouver, Mountain Equipment Co-op, Rivers Institute at BCIT, WildED, Burnaby Now and The Co-operators. The Water For Life Educational Legacy Project offers great potential for long term replication of school music programs and concerts in communities throughout Canada.

Voices of Nature & WildED School Programs
School children who sang in the Water for Life concert participated in the Voices of Nature Music Program that took place from January to April, and involved the entire Brentwood Park school community. In addition, intermediate students took part in the WildED Outdoor Classroom field trips to local watersheds.

Water For Life DVD & CD
The legacy of the Water For Life project is a DVD of the concert, and CD of the concert soundtrack. The CD and DVD are entertaining educational tools to be used by musicians, educators, schools, artists and organizations throughout Canada, to help inspire communities to protect rivers and the ecosystems and species they support. Rivers are the arteries of all life. When a river dies, entire ecosystems are affected. We all need to become ecologically literate, and understand that rivers carry the life-blood of the earth.
