When Holly and Kevin sing together…
think Joni Mitchell meets Bon Scott.
An unlikely combination, but one that bears
rich sounds, songs, energy
and a unique perspective.
They mix up…
heart and soul with edge,
…serious issues with humour,
and most important
an addiction to music and performing!

When Holly and Kevin aren’t performing with hundreds of young singers and the Dream Band, they also perform as a duo. Their collaboration came about as an unforeseen event. In 2003, Kevin began working alongside Holly and her late husband and songwriting partner Stephen Foster, in the Artist Response Team (ART), producing radio shows and school music programs. With Stephen’s untimely passing in 2005, times immediately changed. By 2006, they were thrust into a songwriting and performing partnership that reflects their diverse musical backgrounds.

“I saw Holly and Kevin for the first time. Maybe it is the way Holly closes her eyes as she sings a heartfelt ballad at the piano or dulcimer, or the expression of joy on Kevin’s face as he pounds the congas during one of the group’s many uptempo rockers. They perform the band’s entertaining and illuminating originals as if they had just written them yesterday. Plus they have tons of onstage charisma. Songs like “Up Your Watershed” and “Creatures of Habitat” deliver a powerful environmental message with catchy addictive choruses that make you wanna sing along. Above all it is the enthusiasm and passion the group projects that really wins you over.”

RAIN written by Holly Arntzen and Kevin Wright

“This West Coast Eclectic Duet rocked the place for almost three hours, before a crammed house that numbered about thirty-thirty five appreciative devotees. It was intimate, rich and absolutely appreciated by those who lucked out and fell into this special evening of very fine music. It was one of those nights where it just fell together, was special, and everybody knew it.”

FAIRY TALE OF NEW YORK by The Pogues

“The fusion of their musical roots results in captivating sounds that range from soft, haunting, and low to hard-hitting, raucous, and explosive. Their lyrics speak truths that cannot be ignored. Whether performing in schools, concert halls, clubs or on festival stages and at yard parties; Holly and Kevin make powerful connections with their audiences that engage the young and the not-so-young, transform their understandings, and urge individual commitment to DO SOMETHING! Listen… You, as I, will be forever changed and filled with a sense of hope and possibility.”
